Who Is CJ Bennett? Meet the Coach Behind QB Stable
Who Is CJ Bennett?
I am CJ Bennett, the founder and head coach at The QB Stable in Tampa Bay. I am a former player turned coach, and I train quarterbacks at every level, from middle school all the way up to the NFL.
That is the short version. If you are a parent trying to figure out who is going to be working with your kid, you deserve the longer one. So let me tell you what I actually do and why I do it.
From Player to Coach
I played the game before I coached it. At some point the coaching side pulled harder than the playing side, and I have not looked back since.
What I found is that most quarterbacks are not falling short because they lack talent. They fall short because nobody ever engineered their development. Reps with no purpose. Drills that look good but do not transfer to the game. A lot of activity, not a lot of real progress.
That is the gap I built The QB Stable to close. Development is not supposed to be an accident. It is supposed to be built on purpose.
What I Have Built at The QB Stable
The QB Stable is elite quarterback and player development, based in Tampa Bay, Florida. I founded it, and I run it.
Over the years, the work has produced real results:
9+ quarterbacks who reached the NFL
40+ Division I quarterbacks
125+ college quarterbacks across all levels
I have NFL-level clients, and their testimonials are on the site. I am not telling you that to brag. I am telling you because when you hand your quarterback to someone, you should know the standard he is going to be held to.
My focus is biomechanics, drill design, and development. I want to know exactly why a throw is off before I ever try to fix it. And I want every drill we run to show up on Friday night, not just look good in the workout.
How I Actually Train Quarterbacks
The work runs through a few different lanes, depending on where your quarterback is right now.
QB Academy is elite small group training for middle school, high school, and college quarterbacks in the Tampa Bay area. This is the core of what I do. Real coaching, film, and reps with a purpose. My focus lands on the high school and middle school ages, because that is where you can build the right foundation before bad habits set in.
The Collegiate Exposure Program is for quarterbacks chasing college football. Custom highlight editing, coach outreach, recruiting evaluation, and NIL strategy. It is the plan built around getting your quarterback seen the right way, instead of guessing and hoping.
Coaches Consulting is for coaching staffs. One-on-one QB biomechanics consulting, custom drill frameworks, and practice architecture built for your program. If you coach quarterbacks and you want to sharpen how you develop them, that is what this is for.
What Makes the Training Different
The word I keep coming back to is engineered.
A lot of training treats every quarterback the same. Same drills, same script, same reps for a kid who throws across his body and a kid who has clean mechanics but cannot read a defense yet. That does not work. Two quarterbacks with the same bad throw can have two completely different reasons the ball is off.
So I start with why. Biomechanics tells me what the body is actually doing. Film tells me what the eyes and the decisions are doing. Once I know the real cause, I design the drills to fix that specific thing, not a generic version of it.
That is the difference between activity and development. Activity is a quarterback getting a lot of reps. Development is a quarterback getting the right reps, in the right order, for the right reason.
When a parent tells me their quarterback has trained for a year and has not gotten better, this is almost always why. Nobody ever found the root cause. They just kept running drills and hoping. Hope is not a plan.
What I Believe About Coaching
Here is what drives all of it.
Every kid deserves great coaching and a real chance to compete. That is the whole thing. That is why I do this.
A few things I hold to, no matter the athlete in front of me:
Development is engineered, not accidental. If we are not building on purpose, we are just guessing.
Every rep has a purpose. If a drill does not transfer to the game, we do not run it.
I coach from love, not ego. This was never about me. The goal is always the athlete's growth.
I am a Christian, a husband, and a father. Faith, family, and football, in that order. The way I coach comes straight out of that. I am not just trying to make better quarterbacks. I am trying to build confident young people who compete the right way.
Beyond Quarterbacks: RISE Flag Football
The QB Stable is not the only thing I run.
I also own and operate RISE Flag Football, a youth flag football league in Pinellas Park, Florida. Same development-first belief, just aimed at younger athletes. It is about building confidence, skills, and leaders through the game, and giving every kid a place to compete.
Different sport format, same why. Every kid deserves a real shot and great coaching around them.
Where to Find Me
I am active on X at @CJBennett_08. That is where I post coaching content, my development philosophy, and real talk about quarterbacks and the game. If you want to know how I think about the position before you ever reach out, that is a good place to start.
And if you are ready to see what real, engineered quarterback development looks like for your kid, apply for a QB Stable Academy evaluation. Tell me where your quarterback is and what he is trying to become. That is where we start.
